We got a day break from visitors after Natalie’s Mom left on Wednesday. Friday, Eric and Jaime brought us dinner. Our friends Phil and Jen also came over to the boat and to meet Sullivan. They brought him a present, baby bottles decorated with fancy ropework.

Natalie’s Dad and his wife, Pam, arrived just after we finished dinner and helped with the leftovers. Our friends left after saying “Hello” so we could introduce Sullivan to his Grandparents.

The next day was the Summer Sailstice, the longest weekend day of the year for sailing in the northern hemisphere. We took Astraea out and sailed with the jib and mizzen. While we were out on the water we saw Chris’s boat, BarbaraLou, sailing up the bay.

Ted has the helm
It was a great day for sailing! We pulled back in to our slip at Pier 32 and enjoyed the summer boater’s party hosted by the marina. There were burgers and dogs with classic barbecue sides, with free beer, wine and margaritas. It was good getting to talk to our neighbors and introduce Sullivan to some more of our boat friends. Eric and I played in the horseshoe tournament and quickly made our way to the loser’s bracket. Chris and his teammate ended up taking 2nd place at the horseshoe tournament.
The weekend flew by, and soon it was Sunday and time for Ted and Pam to head back home to Arizona. I got the two pictures below from Ted’s Flickr.
