Natalie and I are getting used to being parents. I feel we prepared pretty well for Sullivan’s arrival and things have gone pretty smoothly. Here’s my impression of fatherhood after one week: it’s awesome and it flies by very quickly! My heart melts every time I see my family.
Things I’ve been doing more of now that the baby’s here: Dishes and cooking. Time that I would have spent idly doing other things is quickly taken up burping Sullivan, holding him or reading him a book.
Most of all I’m so proud of how well Natalie is doing. She gets up every few hours at night to feed Sullivan and doesn’t need my help. It’s great to see them bonding together, and although I want to help, it’s good to get sleep at night.
Trent, Brittany and Bella came over to meet Sullivan on Thursday and have dinner with us. Brittany made a rice and chicken casserole we cooked in our little oven. Thanks for dinner guys!
One thing I wasn’t expecting were all the crazy baby expressions! Just take a look at a few:
Everything is going well with Sullivan’s health. He’s already been to the doctor for his 72 hour checkup. There was a little bit of worry about jaundice, but he is A-OK. We’ve got a two week appointment scheduled at the pediatrician’s office to confirm that he’s putting on weight.
