After our overnight stay at Punta Salinas we motor-sailed to Puerto Los Gatos to see the beautiful red rocks. It was like Arizona meets the sea.
We were surprised to find free range cattle on one of the beaches
Natalie didn’t want me to get any closer. The cows seemed to be saying, “This is a MOO beach.”
So we went ashore elsewhere and it really was a nude beach!
Sully decided to get out of the dinghy by himself
He got a little wet so the clothes came off and he decided to do a little splashing
The next day we met Dois and Lauri from s/v Ashika on the south beach. They were on the hunt for agate geodes that are imbedded in the rocks. They came prepared with hammers and hatchets to crack some rocks open and we decided to tag along with them. They showed us how to identify the geodes and how to bust them open.
Geodes littered the beach
Some we found were already cracked opened
Sully liked playing with and walking Ginger from s/v Ashika
Practicing driving the dinghy and learning port and starboard
Fearlessly climbing up the steep red rocks
We raised our arms and said, “We did it!”
Whale bones and sea shells
The anchorage was calm and the sunsets were beautiful
Scuba Sully loves goofing off and playing with our goggles, swim masks and snorkles
