Aboard Astraea

Heading cross country

Now that Natalie and I are back in San Diego the hardest part is upon us: waiting. Astraea made it 700 miles to Nashville, TN today. She’s still on schedule to be here first thing Wednesday morning next week. Only about 2000 more miles to go.

This morning, Astraea rolled through Nashville, Tennessee. The big trip is almost a third over.

We’re still working to get Airborne ready to sell, doing small projects. Wednesday we picked up new hinges for the cockpit lockers. The screws I bought aren’t quite long enough to reach through the cockpit so Natalie’s going back to Downwind Marine to buy some longer ones.  Today we installed the new hinges for the port side cockpit lockers reusing the old screws. I also mounted the hinges on the starboard side cockpit locker. The new hinges are detachable, so we can remove the cockpit locker covers to clean underneath the lip.

It’s really all we can do to keep from going stir crazy. Today Natalie reread the Bumfuzzle blog about getting their new boat on July 20, 2010. In other news, my friend Josh has finally launched his boat, Full Moon. He has a Go Pro camera and made a video, so check it out on YouTube.
